About the Program

The #GrowASEAN Digital Agriculture Fellowship Program is a blended-learning program instituted by Tagani Philippines that aims to equip young and emerging ASEAN digital agriculturists with skills in full farm site development using spatial data analysis, agriculture analytics, digitally-enabled farm design, and agribusiness economics.

The Program will run flexibly from August to November 2020. At the end of the Program, Fellows are expected to accomplish a farm site development capstone project that shall be presented at the #GrowASEAN Summit in December 2020.

This Program is being implemented by Tagani Philippines in partnership with the US Mission to ASEAN through the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) - Seeds for the Future Program, and Cultural Vistas.

Eligibility

  1. Must be a citizen of any of the 10 ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam) and Timor Leste

  2. Currently in an undergraduate degree program or recent graduate from college within 5 years

  3. Has taken the following collegiate-level courses with passing marks:

    • Algebra and Trigonometry (5 units)

    • Biology or Zoology and Botany (5 units)

    • Chemistry (5 units)

    • Statistics (3 units)

  4. Has a smartphone (IOS/Android) and computer with reliable internet connection

Interested applicants are encouraged to pre-identify a farm land, rooftop, or vacant lot with at least 100 SQM area as their case site for their capstone project.

Note: We accept both underqualifed or overqualified applications on a case-to-case basis depending on the availability of slots. We encourage everyone to apply and state the reasons why you should be considered to the program through the Letter of Intent.

Requirements

Submit the following requirements to be considered a successful applicant to the Fellowship Program:

  1. A Letter of Intent in PDF Format

  2. Proof/s of Completion of required courses*

  3. Updated Curriculum Vitae complete with the following information:

    • Personal Information (Birthday, Gender, Birthplace, and Residence)

    • Trainings and Seminars Attended (if any)

    • Educational Background

    • Professional Background

    • Publications and Works (if any)

    • Awards and Recognitions (if any)

    • Organizations and Affiliations (if any)

  4. A Recommendation Letter from employer or former professor (optional but highly recommended)

*Transcript of Records, True Copy of Grades, Class Cards, Certification from Former Professors or University, Diploma with Course Curriculum, etc.

Application Process

  1. Submit all requirements to growasean@tagani.ph with the subject GrowASEAN APPLICATION.

  2. Deadline of submission of applications is strictly on July 31, 2020 at 11:59PM +8 GMT (Manila Time). Late submissions shall not be entertained.

  3. All applicants will be emailed whether they successfully secured a slot to the program or not approximately two (2) weeks after the deadline of submissions.
